What's the right Number?

0800/0808: These numbers are also known as “free phone” numbers. They are generally used for sales and enquiry lines and are shown to significantly enhance response rates – 7 out of 10 people are more likely to call a free phone number than any other number.

0845: These numbers are billed at the local rate to the caller and are generally used for customer service lines. The local call cost underlines an organisation’s commitment to customer service.

0844: Calls to these numbers are billed to the caller at a flat rate of 5ppm. Advertisers receive a revenue share dependant on the volume of minutes per month. Many customers have used this prefix to replace 0870 numbers.

03: A new UK number designed to bring back consumer confidence by having a clear pricing structure. The 03 range is intended as a replacement for 0845 and 0870 numbers. Organisations with branches throughout the UK can use 03 numbers instead of 08 numbers, maintaining a single national point of customer contact. Calls are equivalent to the cost of a call to a geographic number.

030X: only to be used by public sector or non profit orgs , 033X for general use, 034X for migration from 084X, 037X for migration from 087X
